About Tourist Cafe

Situated just off Sharp Street in Cooma, this cafe strikes a welcoming, casual tone that fits quietly into the rhythm of the small town. It’s a spot where locals, travellers passing through to the Snowy Mountains, and those just seeking a relaxed bite feel equally at home. The atmosphere is cosy and unpretentious, making it a comfortable place to settle in whether you’re dining solo with your laptop or sharing a meal with a group.

Visitors tend to come for the straightforward yet thoughtfully prepared breakfast and lunch options. The menu offers a selection of hearty dishes like poached eggs on toast served with butter-fried mushrooms and bacon, bagels with creative fillings paired with house-made jam, and solid brunch staples including pancakes and Benedict on sourdough. For those after a lighter or healthier touch, there are toasted muesli bowls and small plates that provide balanced choices without fuss.

The drink offerings are a notable part of the experience, with a well-rounded coffee selection that draws in fans of a strong double shot cappuccino or a warmly spiced chai latte. Tea enthusiasts will appreciate the variety available as well. Whether you’re grabbing a quick takeaway cappuccino or lingering over a leisurely brunch, the drinks are carefully crafted and satisfying.

Casual diners appreciate the accommodating service and the easy rhythm of the place, from families with kids (supported by a kids’ menu and high chairs) to travellers looking for a convenient stop with parking nearby. The food strikes a good balance between comforting and straightforward, with highlights like the club sandwich and a bacon and egg roll that manages to feel both juicy and familiar. It’s the kind of cafe where the chips are notably crunchy and the dessert options invite a relaxed finish to a meal or coffee break.

This cafe serves pretty good breakfast and lunch meals. The big breakfast is delicious and filling. The breakfast omelette is another amazing dish worth trying. The calamari rings and chips is also yummy especially the chips. Cooma is a common place to stop by when travelling down the coast or to Snowy Mountains and this one is worth stopping by. Fellow travellers, in the words of Molly Meldrum (showing my age), do yourselves a favour and drop in for lunch here. Club sandwich was fantastic. Tea great. Service even better. Highly recommend. Enjoy.

Nice coffee. Bacon and egg roll was juicy. Would prefer the eggs to be more runny. Friendly service.

Sure! Here’s a review you can use or adapt: I recently stopped by Tourist Cafe in Cooma for a quick takeaway and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a cappuccino and a chai latte, and both drinks were excellent. The cappuccino was smooth, rich, and had a lovely balanced flavor without being too bitter. The chai latte was perfectly spiced and comforting, especially on a cold morning. The staff were welcoming and efficient, and the service was quick even though the cafe was quite busy. A great little spot to grab quality coffee when you’re passing through town. Highly recommend!

I went here for the first time today and had one of the best meals ever! The ham and pineapple melt is sooo good like it’s the most memorable melt I’ve had and will dream about it long after I’ve gone home to Brisbane! The chips are amazing the best I’ve had ever n years! So crunchy! I hope to come back very soon! Also the chocolate thick shake was wonderful!!!!!
